Rashidi Yekini was buried this afternoon according to Islamic rites at his hometown of Ira Offa in Kwara state. May his soul rest in peace…amen.

    A great gem,a unique icon in the world of the “round leather game” – Football, as far as Nigeria is concerned has gone to the grave beyond.This was a  personality whose scoring prowess and instinct had remained undoubted. He had his landmark on the African continent as a fantastic goal scorer(always thirsty for goals in any competitive and stiff tournament with his fiery shots at goal net).He was so wonderful and fantastic.I love him for his patriotism.His memory will continue to linger on in the minds of his teaming admirers.

    I want to admonish the NFF and the FG to immortalize late Rasheed Yekini by naming some important area after him.I believe this will go a long way in giving his contemporaries theconception and mindset that the nation has everyone of them in mind and that they are loved by all.

    Rasheed,rest in peace, i pray God gives ur family the fortitude to bear this abrupt and irreplaceable loss in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
