The event organised by Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) to launch Development Agenda for states in the Western Region, Nigeria was marred by class war and insults.
Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State ‘spill the beans’ by questioning former President Obasanjo on his achievements in office. “He did nothing to develop Nigeria”.
Gov Aregbesola said that “integration could not take place in Yorubaland unless all the states were controlled by the ACN” (referring to Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko). He added that “anyone who was not in the ACN “is an Amulumala, not an Omoluabi.”
Former House speaker, Mr Dimeji Bankole, told Aregbesola “that it was against the concept of Omoluabi in Yorubaland for a younger person to attack or abuse his senior.”
The speaker advised Aregbesola, “to stop being carried away by the position he occupied, It is a very temporal one, you are governor today, whether by hook or crook, you won’t be there tomorrow. Look at me here for instance.”
In his response to the above remarks by Governor Rauf Aregbesola, former Ekiti State governor, Chief Segun Oni said that the statement is “a product of a sick mind, who is being hunted by the failure of his party to deliver its promises to the people.”
“It is unfortunate that Yorubaland was sold to people, who don’t have history, pedigree and character. ACN is hunted by failure.” – Oni
